Big Sky, Montana is the kind of place you dream about. Wide open skies over awe-inspiring mountains and valleys surrounded by vast unspoiled wild lands. Envision all of that beauty, add world class amenities and more recreation under one sky than you can imagine: this is Big Sky. Located just 48 miles from Yellowstone National Park in the heart of the Gallatin National Forest, Big Sky is home to the greatest scenery, the most abundant wildlife, and some of the most exciting recreation in southwest Montana. Summer in Big Sky boasts numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, while the Gallatin River calls the whitewater enthusiasts and beckons the serene fly fishermen to its waters. In addition to being the home to two downhill ski areas and the top Nordic ski center in North America, winter in Big Sky brings opportunity for sleigh ride dinners, dogsled adventures, and local seasonal festivals.
